Move over Glasto and Reading, the wellness fest is a new generation celebration of music, food and healthy living with a dash of hedonism thrown in. That’s pretty much us in festival form, then. We’ll see you there.
Trade a snaking portaloo queue for perfecting your downward dog, or muddy tent for a mindful meditation deck. Yes, this is festival going for the wellness squad. And we’re in. So ditch your wellies, cut-offs and hangover for activewear, holistic living and a clear head. Well, most of the time. Because at Noughty we love to be lean but know how to let loose, too. It’s all about the healthy balance in nature.
Here’s our pick of four wellness fests that will help you and your tribe get your Noughty on…
Best for families
Wilderness Festival in Oxfordshire (August 3-6, Cornbury Park, wildernessfestival.com) is a fusion of music, food, wellness and art and totally down with the kids. If you’ve got your mini me’s in tow then they’ll be relieved to hear that it’s not all green juice and namaste action. Sure, there’s family yoga but kids activities span arts, crafts, cricket, storytelling and theatre.
The yoga programme is extensive with acroyoga, paddleboard and hip hop yoga a few highlights. Then there’s everything else on the wellness menu from xtend barre, pilates balance, wild runs, through to meditation and transformational breathing. Neal’s Yard offer post-concert pampering and with food by Ottolenghi, Thomasina Miers and Deliciously Ella you’ll be spoilt for choice on where to refuel. Just make sure you hit the barre before you load up on the veggie, gluten-free burritos!
Best for party-animals
If you’d still like the chance to go a bit wild, check out Soul Circus (August 18-20, Elmore, Gloucester, soulcircus.yoga). Because, we know, sometimes chaturangas are easier after a few hours tongue-in-cheek twerking on the dance floor. Musically the line-up is eclectic featuring funky dance through to mellow vibes and old skool DJ afterparties in the woods. A range of local cider, gin, organic biodynamic wine, beer, Champagne and signature festival cocktails will help you get your groove on.
Mindfulness receives heavy billing here with Will Young (yes, the popstar) headlining sessions. Hypnotherapy, meditation and love coaching also feature on the wellness menu. The luxury Bamford Haybarn Spa is also on-site to help you get your zen on post party. . An extra plus Noughty fans get 10% off tickets from www.soulcircus.yoga by using code: NOUGHTY10
Best for nature-lovers
Nature Nuture at the Green Man Festival (August 17-20, Brecon Beacons, Wales, greenman.net) is set in the beautiful oasis of the Welsh Brecon Beacons. Here the vibe is chilled-out and carefree. The Nature Nurture Healing Garden is the place to head to after listening to a set from Saint Etienne or Ryan Adams, some live comedy or an ‘in conversation’ with Irvine Welsh. Here you’ll find yoga, pilates, meditation, Indian summer massages and outdoor wood-fired hot tubs.
Best for getting your sweat on
Looking to try something new fitness wise? Then Lovefit Festival is for you. (July 28-31, St Clere Estate, Sevenoaks, Kent). With a stellar musical lineup featuring Groove Armada’s Tom Findlay, Danny Howard, Jessica Skye and SG Lewis, it’s less left of the middle. Festival partner Ministry Does Fitness turns a kick-ass full body workout into an afterparty. Their be good to be bad mantra is so Noughty, too. Choose from a host of classes spanning HIIT, spinning, barre, boxing, AYB fitBEAT (dancing to killer beats), kettlebells, paddleboarding, SUP yoga and wild swimming. Hell yeah!
Festival Haircare- What to Pack

Peppermint detoxifies and sorrel leaf extract cleanses and moisturises. It’s the perfect way to kick product build up, smoky fumes and post-workout grease into touch.
